Native American short

First, my profound apologies to those who sent me PMs and didn't get a prompt response. I was out on a few writting assignments. Let me know if the offers still stand.

Now ...

I am working on a short about Native Americans. Anyone looking for a short in that genre?

Basically it is about a young girl who struggles with her identity. It will be powerful emotional conflict. No explosions, no gore. A character / dialogue driven piece at ten pages.

It's free. Just give me the writing credits.

Alex

Just curious. What tribe? I am an Oneida from Wisconsin, interested in knowing some more details. May be able to produce it for you if it is good. A lot more demand for this type of material, depends on if it is original. Get back to me.

Jin.

Go post it on inktip, you'll get a bite or two with a strong logline/synopsis. I've sold a few over there.

Haven't decided. Been chatting with a young Zuni woman, but hasn't been a great help yet. Just finished a feature length with a Cherokee lead.

My focus is more about emotional battles with traditions and the modernworld from the eyes of a young Native American woman.

I'll send it to you when finished!

Alex you must be very careful if you're not Native when you write about our people. It may be well intentioned but it would be extremely useful to consult someone with the ancestry. Too much cultural appropriation has gone on in the past, as I'm sure Jin can attest. I've gone through more than a dozen scripts that have been written by White people trying to interpret our culture and history, and they too are well-intentioned but many need help righting certain wrongs.

I appreciate your point of view.

Two points.

Yes I have consulted with them, and what makes you think I'm white?

I will assume your point of view applies to all races, be it people of African ancestry writing about whites, Native Americans writing about the Japanese, or the Maori writing about the Inuit.
