Nasty Banding

I'm getting some nasty banding issues. Shot with GH13 Hack - with 40Mbps AVCHD High Reliability Patch. Video was a 1/3 stop under exposed at 400 ISO, f 1.8, with Canon 50mm FD lens.

It's noticeable on the persons face -- see stills.

Any ideas?

Consider yourself lucky. You are shooting in next to no light and there is barely any banding imo compared to other out there. The GH1 does not see in the dark!

i guess its all up to the eyes of the viewer. in the OPs pics. i see horizontal banding in the background only on the 1st pic and nothing anywhere in the second.
and i dont see anything in the video either...

am i just blind or maybe my expectations are just lower than everyone elses? ; )

lol, avc hd is 4:2:0 color space, so banding its always gona happen. Dont want color banding, use Mjpg at 4:2:2 hack.
