Name that Film Effect

I have been browsing for a "vintage" film plug-in for fcp for quite some time. I have magic bullet & Apple's Pro Suite 2 but have an older g5 (1.8 Dual). It won't run Color because of my VRam & Magic bullet lets me only apply a few filters before crashing my FCP.... frustrating.

I came across this wedding videographers website and really dug his look - does anyone know how to achieve this without having to upgrade my computer to run both of those programs? (I will eventually get a mac pro but have a project due this week and would love to use this type of effect).

www.wellspunweddings.com - just click on any of the galleries (1 & 4 are the best)

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!

and the other half? I've checked Nattress too - thanks for the recommendation.

My client wants and old soft vintage feel - just can't achieve it with this system...

thanks for your advice

You might try brightening the whole image a little and pulling the whites way up. I think you might need to export to after effects if you want to bevel the edges like he did. The rest seems to be frame rate. Or maybe that's just the video struggling to load in time.

Hey Dave you don't have to go into AE to get this effect. Its very quick and easy inside of FCP. I use it all the time especially on portrait pictures to soften the edges. It gives a nicer pro look to the pics or video.

You place your video in the timeline and double click on it to see it in the viewer and then click on the motion tab and go down to Crop and twril down the triangle and then go down to Feather and try using the slider until you get the desired effect.
Good luck.

Thanks for the input -

I just loaded imovie on and will try that too. I think my computer is honestly limiting the effects I can do... it is 5 years old...

Thanks for the tips! - it's greatly appreciated!
