MZA900P grounding issue?

Hey guys, I have 2 Countryman B3s and Sennheiser MZA900P that I feed either to my Sony EX1 or SD MixPre and then to my Tascam DR100mkii if I'm shooting DSLR.

I like to use the MZA900P so I don't have to use wireless which is fine except for about 40% of the time when I get a strange hum in the audio. It's like a grounding issue. Often, the issue goes away if the talent holds the cable or sometimes if the cable is lifted off the ground. I do all location shoots, so this problem has cropped up in all sorts of environments. Indoors, outdoors, it doesn't matter and it isn't consistent.

Any idea what could be the issue? Changing XLR cables doesn't solve it either.

Does it happen with any other mics besides the B3? I'm wondering if it might be a loose or improperly wired shield connection in the TS plug on the mic cable proper.

I don't have any other mics I can test it with... I have a B6 but it doesn't work with the MZA900P.

Hello,

I am having the same problem with my mke40 mike.
Where you able to solve the problem, if yes how:)

Thanks,
Rob
