I watch this movie every time its on HBO and its too bad i missed it on the big screen.

I don't know about anyone else but every actor in this movie is great! I think this got some kind of award for screenplay but I hope it did win something.

Beautifully shot in its dark way it fits the theme to the 'T'. I hope someone enjoyed this movie as much as I did.

My wife and I saw this in the theatre. I love Eastwood's direction. His visual style is so....sublime, for lack of a better word.

The one I love the most in this movie is Marcia Gay Harden. I think she had the hardest role and thought her performance was fantastic.

Another winner from Eastwood.

Yep, mystic river was a great movie. Clint does a good job as an director, I think he's one of the best actors that direct?

Even though many actors direct.
 
i think that this is one of eastwoods best films that he's directed. million dollar baby is my favorite of his but mystic river is a close second
 
I'm always alone in this. Always. But I hated. yeah, that's right. Hated this movie.

Hated the story line. Hated the way it was shot. Hated the characters.

I'm not saying sean penn didn't knock it into the bleachers. He did. But Tim Robins looked like a goon and the editing was so minimal and old-school it drove me nuts.

I didn't see it in the theatre, I bought the DVD. I watched it twice and then gave the DVD away.

This movie was just not for me.

Oh, I did like the old b&W studio logo they used off the top.

for the record, Hate million dollar baby too.

i thought they gave it to PENN because he should have gotten it for DEAD MAN WALKING but still a good movie and i forgot her name but she should have gotten supporting actress i agree about TIM the character shouldn't have gotten the oscar anybody could have played that role

I hated it so much, I can't even remember why. Blocked it out. Something just annoyed the hell out of me in it, though. Damn. I am NOT going to rewatch it just to remember.
 
I just got this from the library and thought it was very good until the end. The end for me was so retarded that it ruined the rest of it for me. They kill the wrong guy. Penn isnt convicted for killing Dave even though it seemed to me that Bacon knew that he killed him. Also whats wrong with Penn's eyes that he has to wear these big granny style glasses. Dont get me wrong I liked the movie until the last 15 or so minutes.
 
Ah, yes. That was it. The ending. It should have stoppedmuch earlier than it did. That wasn't a denouement, that was oh crap, we need to fill some time. Shoot something.

And I thought they gave it to Penn because he should have gotten it for I Am Sam from the previous year :undecided
