Mysterious $700 deposit in my bank account?!?!?

I admit it.It was me. I'll send you my paypal info so you can pay me back.
Sorry bro I've been busy so I didn't come on here for a couple days. Bank of America STILL hasn't fixed it so I just sent the money over, let me know when it goes through. Isn't it crazy how it just so happened to be another dvx users money? Lol, small world we live in

There was a story on a Phoenix news station the other day, where a "working mom" had quit her job at a local school, and had accrued about $700 in a retirement account. She wanted that money deposited in her Chase Bank account, so she filed out the form with her routing number and account number. Only one problem-she was 1 number off on her account number. So, the money was deposited, like she requested, but to someone else's account.
To add insult to injury, when she discovered she had entered her account number 1 number off, the bank discovered that the account the money was deposited in, had all of the money withdrawn, and the account closed, and there was nothing more the bank could do, because that is the account number she requested the money be deposited. Now that sucks.

If it was me, I would contact the bank, and have them contact customers with account numbers near mine, to see if anyone made a transposition error on the numbers. The fact that it's not my money, and belongs to someone else, would motivate me enough to find out who deposited the money-and maybe contact them to find out who the money was intended for.

I would not, under any circumstances, withdraw or spend that money.
Somebody has to be looking for it-and in this economy, while $700 might be nothing to you and me, it can mean a hell of a lot of money to some people.
Just my 2 cents.

Bank of America Deposited 84 Thousand Last year and It 6 Months for them to figure it out... Then one day.. Poof! it was gone... the loss was painful....

Nice! My GF got paid 80 hrs a week for half a month a while back, we are still wondering how and if they will ever notice and try to recoup. She does work a lot of overtime that she hadn't billed them for, so we figured it was karma.
