myspace troubles and loathing

Hey gang...I have been trying to upload a 60 meg video to the myspace filmclub upload thingy and it keeps setting my hair on fire with time out messages and unknown errors. it is a 60 meg file, they say you're allowed 100 megs. they are trying to retrieve it from my desktop and I'd much rather have it pulled from a url/ but that doesn't seem to be an option. I have turned off zone alarm and tried sending both wmv and mov and now I'm at a loss. I e-mailed them but so far no reply. I was kind of hoping one of you has survived this ordeal and learnt what hoops to jump through to get this file beamed up to the good ship myspace. Any help would be apreciated
 
I've often seen myspace servers get overloaded at peak usage times. Try doing it late at night or early in the morning.
 
plus they dont format widescreen movies properly either in their built-in players. its a 4x3 world there unless you letterbox. so i went the imbedded google video player route for my myspace page and just bypassed their players completely.
 
pretty soon google will just come out with a personal account home page, and itll kick myspace in the nuts, and you wont have this problem. :)
 
I got something up but it's been processing it forever and I never saw a good clean upload completion screen so I'm not having a lot of faith here. Thanks for your input though, I don't feel so darned alone now:)
 
Will do.... How hard was it to get your page to look that good? Can I count on a lot of hours work? Better yet, can you tell me how you made the page, was it done using templates they supply or were you able to dreamweave it?

it is all in the site.. simple and quick.. drag and drop based on the templates they have and you can customize.. it took me about an hour at most but i had all the content ready. im using it to network with bands.. there is a lot of music on there..
 
after you join.. click on your website link then go to page settings and start there with a style sheet. it is much faster than myspace.. maybe not as many peps but what the hell its a free webpage.
