Ok, I have a myspace account. I actually started it to get some cash in a focus group and I'm rarely on the site. In fact, the only time I get on the site is when I get an email that someone wants to add me as their friend. At times it's been cool hearing from people I'd lost contact with. At other times, however, there was a reason I lost contact - because I didn't care to socialize with a particular person and hearing from them was kind of a drag.
Anyhow, I think it's odd when someone you haven't seen or talked to in years asks you to add them to your "friends" list but doesn't send you a message. Is it then my social obligation to send a message? I kind of view this like the person who calls and has nothing at all to say but expects you to carry the conversation. If you initiate contact, it's your job to start the socializing, right? Anyone else agree or am I crazy? (I know I'm neurotic, but crazy, too?)
