My web HD footage looks like crap..

I'm using vegas 7, my footage was shot 1080I. I'm using the following template> format AVC, stereo (L R) , 48.000khz H.264 Decoder, 704 x 400, Millions FPS 23.98 , Data Rate: 15.63

I suspect that the data rate is my problem, I have tried to change the constant and variable bit rates within the template but it did not seem to make a difference. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Increase your data rate. I'm not sure how Vegas encodes, you might need to use a number like 3000. Hopefully some Vegas users will chime in.
