Can you tell me what size [ in inches ] the axle is or the size of the hole in a standard bearing?

It's about 8mm and that's close to 0.31 inches... hope that helps.

Nope, the tube is quite sturdy and i haven't notice any "bend" in it.

I just came back from a few weeks away from home working and i'm still super busy :/ .. i will post some footage as soon as possible.
I have an upgrade to the dolly, a new ball head that just arrived from ebay. Pics arriving soon.
