Ahhhhhhhhhhh. Okay well I'm not even that upset.. just drained. Where to begin?
We just finished our film One Man's Goal and I want to go back to work ASAP on the next production. Only problem is that I'm leaving for 6 weeks at the end of June to go on the Kavadba Roadtrip... (see www.kavadba.com)
So If I'm going to work on a film it needs to be shoot ready in like 3 weeks right? I brought all my peeps together and pitched a location and outline and told them to think about it and give me ideas for a film that could be done by the end of June.
Long story short... We landed one. A real winner. Totally cool SELLABLE idea. Okay now we need the script. Our writter wrote a beautiful screenplay but put 1 scene in that is unfilmable for our budget. No prob. "Take that out... replace it with X"
The idea was so good we even got an investor to put up 6K. This is mid level stuff here. We'd get to go film a movie that we didn't have to pay for. YES!!!
Low and behold our writer falls in love with his script (IT WAS GOOOD) and doesn't want to rush the production. So he pulls the plug and says we need to wait a few more months. BUT I"M LEAVING FOR THE SUMMER and I OWN THE EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO FILM.
He thinks it's his million dollar idea and wants to nurture it. Don't get me wrong, I've got a couple of those Aces up my sleeve but dang man. I pitched you the idea and you wrote it in 3 weeks. I doubt it's that last chopper out of Nam... Know what I mean?
So I'm stuck with an angry but eager crew and no summer script. Bah Humbug. I think it's a mistake to wait. I know it might still work out but we have EVERYTHING we need to make an awesome movie RIGHT NOW. Why push it off? WHY WHY WHY? Life isn't long enough to sit on your thumb. Grab the opportunities when they come!

Lol.... anybody got a project we can help on? Or a shootable script?
