My short film "The Ninjews: Goy-L Trouble" screeing at Gulf Coast Film Festival

I know I'm a new member, and also don't know if this is the right category for this, so bear with me:

Last year I finished an animated short film concerning Jewish Ninjas, interfaith dating, and conflict, called "The Ninjews: Goy-L Trouble". I don't know if anyone here is from/near the Houston, TX area, but it screens this Sunday 9/25 at the Gulf Coast Film Festival.

Here's the Ninjews page on my site (you can see the original claymation Ninjews and the newest one so offensive I might have offended myself. "Goy-L Trouble" is not on my site yet in its entirety)

Film synopsis:
Yoav and Fyvush Goldsteinfeldbergowitzblumbaum are your average mohels (if you don't know what a mohel is, it's the guy who performs circumcisions, taking a weenus that rather resembles a frightened, blind earthworm and making it over into something, that, to me, has always resembled my dad's haircut and/or a Tootsie Roll Pop) with secret identities as Jewish ninja superheroes. When Fyvush begins dating a Catholic woman, Yoav tries to put his reservations aside and be open-minded. But is this apparently sweet girl all she seems? (PSSST. . .she’s not. She’s a demonic supervillain out to convert everyone to Catholicism. Crap, I spoiled it. Sorry.)

The film screens at 1:30pm at the Kemah Holiday Inn (all screenings are here)
805 Harris Avenue (8th Street @ Harris)
Kemah, Texas 77565
Tickets are $5/person for the whole day's worth of films, and be purchased at the Kemah Visitor's Center:
604 Bradford
Kemah, TX 77565

Hope to see you there.

Good luck with the screening. For whatever little it's worth that's one of the most hideous titles I think I have ever seen. For my own part I'd miss the film, solely based upon that title. Hopefully I'm in the tiny minority, with that.

Glad to see I am not the only one. The title sounds insulting and offensive to a people of a certain faith and many other people. I wouldn't watch this, just based off of the title alone.

Not something to be proud of, Josh, despite your exuberant response to Sad Max. You are alienating your audience already (of the only 2 people to even deem posting on your thread worth the time, we both think the idea put forth is horrendous and insulting). Hopefully your reception at the screening will be better than what you are getting here. But, I don't think that will be the case, because this sounds highly offensive and non-humorous. Believe me, I am censoring myself, in order to try to be constructive, despite how I feel about your description of this project.

Maybe work on the logline is needed. Talking about circumcision in terms of :
taking a weenus that rather resembles a frightened, blind earthworm and making it over into something, that, to me, has always resembled my dad's haircut and/or a Tootsie Roll Pop)
is tasteless beyond belief. You may think it's funny, but that means you have not connected with your audience. I don't think too many people will think it's funny either. Maybe 30 years ago, when racism was considered funny, maybe. But not now, except to a very narrow section of viewers.

If you get a write up in a paper or something, link it here. I would like to see the "reviews" in case I am wrong in my assessment.

Films reach out to people that enjoy the genre and invite them into the storyline. Who is your film inviting in as you describe it?
