Hello, my name is Shane. I am 13 years old. I have begun an interest in screenwriting and I have written a 50 page script. I was wondering if you (meaning someone on this site) or someone you know would like to team up with me to try to make the script longer. The script is about a boy who has cancer who goes on a RV trip with his family. i would like to work with someone that has some experice since I do not. If you or someone you know would like to team up with me could you please respond back? thanks

i'm impressed. 13 and writing scripts. good job. you're way ahead of the game. don't think i can spare the time to help write something like this either, but i have a few books to suggest.

- Inside Story by Dara Marks (available at http://www.daramarks.com/). I just got this one and I'm about half way through it. Really really good, all about writing from theme.

- Screenplay by Syd Field. Teaches you about structure and pacing. Syd is one of the original big time teachers.

- The 101 Habits Of Highly Successful Screenwriters by Karl Iglesias. A good inspirational read.

also check out http://www.sfy.ru. it's the "screenplays for you" website. TONS of scripts you can download and read for free. this is one of the best ways to learn.

obviously there are lots more books and websites, but this will get you started.

Just a thought, I'm not sure it's wise to be helping a proclaimed 13 year-old over the Internet.

Regardless of the context.
 
When I said I was 13 not everybody believed me.

I'd like to give it a read too, but I don't like putting my email address on the internet like that.
