My review of the 16:9 Eyepiece Adapter

I have the 16:9 eyepiece adapter. It attaches simple enough, but there are a couple of draw backs. For one thing, the viewfinder becomes significantly heavier, so much so that it can no longer be tilted upwards without coming down. The other drawback is that the viewfinder becomes a bit more hard to focus with the adapter on, but the LCD is best used for focus (imo.) Overall, the eyepiece does what it's suppose to do, and I'm fairly happy with it.

Show us some pics, I'm curious about that product too. I guess it is still easier to lug around then having a 16:9 capable production monitor on set...

i really like mine, i found that in a way, although it is awfully heavy, if you have the anamorphic adaptor and a matte box, it helps a lot to balance the whole setup.

be very careful about tilting up the viewfinder as it could probably snap the whole thing off over time, it likes to drop down suddenly!

Unfortunately, I'm knee deep into my production, and I don't have time to do this. But let me say this, you're better off NOT buying this thing, IMO. It's not that it's a horrible product, because it pretty much does what it's suppose to do, but when you are in the heat of shooting, you'll probably find yourself composing your shots with the squeezed image in the LCD. Since the LCD screen is best for focusing, this makes going from LCD screen to viewfinder a bit of a pain in the ass. Also, As you all probably know, you have to close your LCD screen if you want to use the viewfinder, and this puts additional wear and tear on your LCD screen hinge (I suspect.) And as was mentioned above, the added weight of handling the viewfinder with this adapter attached makes the viewfinder prone to future damage (it WILL slam down on you due to the additional weight, if you are you not extra careful.)

..you dont have to close the lcd to view the EVF. you cn change it in the menus so that you can use both at once if you want. thanks for the review though!
