My new doc trailer...

Hey guys,

So I put up a trailer for my new documentary, "THE STATE OF POEM". I posted it on myspace so the quality there is poo-poo. Anyway, its like 5 minutes long. I know that's not standard. The reason I put up the long one is because I'm hunting down a free DP to help me shoot the last small bit of footage I need this Saturday. I'm hoping this helps me find one. I'm also using it to find a free doc editor too. Sucks being broke, don't it?

First, let me say that it looks like you have a good idea going, and it looks like a major undertaking traveling the country doing this. The trailer was alright, like you said it was on the long side. The only negative I would say is that it seems like you are featuring music more than poetry. I understand you showing local musicians to set the mood, but I kept waiting to hear some inspiring poety and it never showed up on the trailer.

Interesting, the first cut had more poetry less music, but I think the poetry itself is implied, that it will show its face in the film. Watching someone rattle off a poem in a trailer would make it far longer than the 5 minutes we already have. Music is an important part of the film as well.

But I see your point and will sit on it. Thanks for the tip!
