My new best friend (Audio Technica 4053b vs Rode Lav)

Hi guys. I just received my new Audio Technica AT4053b Hyper Cardioid mic and did a quick comparison to the Rode Lav (which is what I usually use for interviews and most other dialogue) and was not expecting such a HUGE difference in quality. Where have you been all my life?!! It really is chalk and cheese. I was expecting it to be better, obviously, but I don't think I will ever take my Rode Lav out of its impressive little box again. The AT has a beautifully full bodied sound with an impressive signal to noise ratio (never really heard how loud the hiss is on the lav until I compared!). This will up the quality of my audio (and therefore videos) 20 fold!

Anyway, just thought I share my excitement for anyone who is on the fence about this mic. I will try to post some samples here soon.

+1, I love my 4053b! I was recording with an AudioTechnica wireless lav and the AT on an interview shoot last year and the sound was better from the AT in every instance. I've since stopped bothering with the lav and use the 4053b exclusively. Very good buy.
