My latest corporate gig.

Here's a few shots from the gig I'm on right now. Sorry, no DVX's on this one.

Just for reference - that center wide screen is 20' x 60' ! There's 3 double-stacked 12,000 lumen projectors behind it blended together with a Montage system.
The side screens in the front are 15' x 20' and the delay screens are 12' x 16'.

The two main cameras with 75x and 70x lenses

My camera with a 55x lens for audience pick-ups.

30' Cam Mate crane cam for those sweet "flying over the audience" shots!

Actually NOT! Pain in the butt to load all this gear in and set up. Plus it's an annual union meeting for the Steelworkers so it's pretty damn boring. Thursday is last day of the show then we get to tear it all out. Gonna be a long day but the money is REALLY good.

Yeh TC, they are pretty comfy. Good thing too since we are on camera from 8:30am - 5:30pm everyday except for 1 hour at lunch.

Is all this equipment rented or do you own them? If you do own them, can I be your friend?

Blue - None of the gear is mine, but we can still be friends.......
I'm a stagehand in the local IATSE 720 when I'm not doing my own business.
This gig is for an AV company AVHQ. Total AV bill to the USWA I hear is somewhere in the neighborhood of $800K! Nice neighborhood huh?

Who gets to play with the crane?

Another local stagehand that actually owns the crane. Talk about making the dough! $1,250 daily equipment rental plus $750/day rate as operator!!! SWEET!!

Very cool guy though. He's currently training me on the rig! He's done the '88 Olympics in Korea, the '92 Olympics in Barcelona, the '96 Games in Atlanta as well as the custom robotic "Yacht Cams" for ESPN's coverage of the '92 America's Cup from San Diego.
He's got quite the resume.
