My last Letus Extreme short?

With my current possession of the Letus Ultimate prototype I think it is unlikely for the time being that I will be using my extreme for that much, so here is the last short I filmed before I got the Ultimate.

It's called "Death Valley" and I filmed it in Death Valley. Funny that.

I hate to ask this but I'll be helping with a feature with the EX1 + LEX this summer...and I'm the one that proposed the 35mm setup so if anything goes wrong it's on my head!

Philip, how is the LEX with edge-to-edge sharpness? In some wider shots (0:32, 0:45, 0:55 and especially 1:45) it seems the edges drop off a bit. I'm meeting with the DP today to go over the rig basics - to my knowledge he's never shot a frankenstein 35mm rig before.

What remedies have you found for increasing e2e sharpness? (and what are your zoom settings with the LEX?)

If you use the full frame SLR view prepare for image softness. There are professional photographers that don't even like full SLR frames due to the edge softness of SLR glass.

Stick with 35mm or S35, the Upgraded Achromat or the compromise focus and you're good.

Hey Philip:

First of all, I very much enjoy your shorts...especially the Vegas one...it does capture the strip in all its glory!

I have a question though...your shorts have a saturated redish look to them. It reminds me of Kodachrome 40 (which I love...hence my username). Are you getting this look straight from the camera or are you doing it in post.
