Well, it's finally here....My last day of high school. I don't actually graduate until the 16th, but it still feels good. Then onto college in October. Even though college is going to be hard, I still can't wait to start and have a change from HS. Anyone else in here graduating/recently graduating?

Anyone else in here graduating/recently graduating....

hmm....

I wonder where I put my graduation cave painting?

your leaving one hypocracy for another...

school does as much as possible to stifle creativity...

now where did I put those bags of money and my gold plated shoes...

Haha pookie. I graduated at the end of last year, over here we finish a the end of the year. I just 'graduated' from first semester of film school though :)

There's only one thing to do at this point... cue up Alice Cooper's "School's Out for Summer" and crank it, Baby!

Congrats!

Now, get a life... j/k ;)

Haha, Terry, I was actually going to do that last year....I forgot. PDX_DVX, you still have the chance!!! Don't fail us now!

damn... I feel old. I wish I had had the internet when I was in school. That would have been sweet.
PDX - so that makes you what 17 or 18... man I was graduating HS when you were born. Actually... college when you were born.

Yea, I am really fortunate to be at what is in essence the beginning of this revolution known as "digital video". It's a double edged sword though. Now every shmo can go out with a digital camera and make a video. True, most are pretty bad, but it just means you have to be that much better to make your stuff a cut above the rest. I am also fortunate enough to have this forum, as well as a job that supported my DVX purchase, and continues to support my passion....And yes, I am 18....Oh yea, the allice cooper has DEFFINETLY been rocked....in fact, we used it in this video we made in like 45 minutes out of boredom in our field production class.....good times!

I was taking my second shot at college when you were born. Man, time flies.

Congrats

Hey Terry, the ep of SNL that your avatar is from was on E tonite.

I got out of a little place I like to call Minnesota's toilet, went streaking, videotaped it - time to release it on Ebaums...

Just 2 more years baby!

Besides - I'll be going to arts school for the next 2 years of HS so it don't really matter now does it?

Man, bunch of youngstas! Who am I to say... Some people still think I'm in highschool...okay so I lied. maybe if I shaved and grew my hair out, you know the typical bowl hair cut parted in the middle. I may pass for at least 19.. Hah, Well, PDXDVX, you and millions of other highschool kids are graduating.. I hope you guys make the right decisions in life and aim towards the goals you want. Good luck and stay safe! Word!

Man, the old pedafiles are going to love to see that clip... You crazy kids!

I'm graduating too. Get out the same day as PDX_DVX (might have something to do with the fact that we go to the same school). Starting at the Art Institute of Portland in July.

Can't wait for the last day of HS to be over. It was great for learining the basics of video produciton, but once we got advanced, the teacher wanted us to stay in the news/reporting/documentary side of things, which isn't a bad thing, we just wanted to do something else.

When I was in HS me and a couple friends got an 8mm camera (film , not video) and shot a James Bond spoof called James Blond. The lead had freakishly blond hair hince the title. Anyway, it was silent of course so we spliced it together and got all the characters together for the debut. All the characters read their parts out loud while watching the screen! A couple years later after graduating I got a job in TV and we had the film transfered to 3/4" tape and got the gang together to record the audio again. Everyone got a vhs copy except me because at the time I had a beta vcr. Had that tape until a few years back when my house in New Orleans flooded and I lost everything.
...anyway... I digress. I really need to track down those guys and see if any of them still have their copies. If I can get hold of it I'll post it here. It's good for a laugh.

Yeh - I remember our bond girl was the lead cheerleader that otherwise would not have given us geeks the time of day. That Bi*&#h!....

Oh boy.. I shot some of the craziest shizzle back then using some kinda camera with a cable attached to a recorder.. I think VHS. I used to make people "disappear" by stopping the tape, asking my sister to move out of the frame, then pressing record again. Man, that was fun!!

We can all remark about how much we've learned since those good ol' days of playing with now-antiquated equipment... but, think about how much we learned by doing those crazy experiments, etc.

Yup, good times.

Hey, that was consider highclass visual effects back in the day! VCR to VCR edits. I always dreampt of doing cross dissovles. I had a sony camera that had this rediculously superimpose effect. That was probably the first time I ever had credits on video.. That was the Sh*tz!

Good times!
