(Edit) I didn't see the DVXuser footage the first time. But David is right (read below).
You have a good camera. Edit your own footage. You can do it! Study the look of 28 Days Later. Figure out how they did the shots (lighting, angles, etc.). Copy the look and feel. Make a parody sequel called "29 Days Later." Seriously. Make a 5-10 min parody. That is your homework. Most great filmmakers start by studying their favorite movies.
Looks like the first half is 28 Days Later, then there's a DVXuser scene, some footage Danny (Mike) shot, and then Resident Evil footage. I'm not exactly sure how to critique this Danny. I don't know what edits you did and what edits the real Danny Boyle did.
I understand what you're doing Mike. You don't have a lot of resources so you're editing footage from other peoples work you like. That can be ok (in the privacy of your own home), but uploading it is different.
I remember using photos (from other people) and manipulating them to help me learn Photoshop. (Taking a Braveheart poster and adding my friends face over Mel's face.) Just for fun! Looks like you're doing the same. Just having fun learning the software. BUT when you post "your" footage together with other DVXusers stuff, you're crossing the line.
I would take that movie down and ask permission next time.
