just picked up my first still camera a few months ago. its an olympus sp-500uz. here's the result of some of the fun i've been having:

that's machupichu in Peru. i got the idea to do that from that thread. what a cool idea! pics 1 and 4 are also from Peru.

i just blurred the foreground and background to give the appearance of a shallow depth of focus. it makes you feel like it was taken with a really long lens. the only way you could take that shot with that long a lens would be from miles above or if the subject was a miniature. it kinda tricks your brain.

that was in photoshop. there's a painting filter on the sky and everything else is just a real contrasty B&W.
