My first ever Film Festival

The 2nd annual Indie Gathering Film Festival of Cleveland, Ohio was my first, and it was a blast!
It was actually a paying gig, from 11am to 7pm recording on my DvX all the lectures and stunt fights and competitions and screenings my little heart could handle.
It lasted this past weekend starting friday and I just cant believe I got payed for doing something I loved so much doing.
Plus the Founder of the Indie Gathering, Ray Such is such a nice guy, he let me go to all the screenigs I wanted as well as fed me. I got to meet The spanish director of the african short "Binta and the great idea." which was friggin genious. Networked with the director of "ARC" and "Vanishing Acres" and a bunch of LA producers.
My wife actually showed some of them an unfinished short I was trying to lock away, she showed it without my permission, but as i was shooting another event i get all these guys who werent speaking to anyone come up to me and hand me their cards and at first i thought they were being nice. But when I went to go check up on my wife, Ray Such had set her up with a table so all the people crowding around could see it. This woman everyone was trying to kiss her ass, Jennifer Shaffer (a person who does some budgeting in LA I think), just said, "Holy cow this is hair raising, youve impressed me" and gave me her card.
I feaked out, but im glad my wife did it.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this cool experience with all of you. Feel free to post your first time!

That was a great trailer! Really made me want to see what it's all about.

Congratulations on your first film festival. Your wife sounds cool.

Thanks Briceman, did you get to see the trailer? what did you think?
And good ole PK, thanks for the support dude.

On a side note, My wife is still learning english.. she just learned the expression, "SWEEET!" and wanted to make sure I write this down in this post for some reason... :Drogar-Sick(DBG): Don't ask...

Congrats on your first festival...I really think people never really feel like true filmmakers until they do a festival. I know I didn't. But it is such a thrill to get into a festival. It aint about whether it's Sundance or Slamdance but the fact that you got a chance to go through the experience. Keep it up.

PS. Have you thought about submitted to Slamdance before it's too late this year?

Dude, my bad, after watching that teaser, I think your style is more geared toward Sundance. Go for the gold baby! Sundance is for meaningful movies like yours where Slamdance is more for the movies that don't quite mean as much, at least from a current events standpoint. I think you stand a serious chance of getting into Sundance. Best of luck.

Wow, Lakmiro, thats quite a compliment! I'm actually going to submit it to both festivals, but whatever happens, happens.
Thanks guys for checking this out, there isnt much to really see, but I start shooting next week. I have until september 15th to submit the short and it should only take me a day or two two rap it up. I'd give it about a week in post and walaaaa...
I'm actually waiting for UPS to drop off my cartoni focus head as I write this, and the dv rig and boompole should be here tommorow.
Anybody in the cleveland area want to join in on the fun?

No Prob Ghost. I basically just told my wife a synopsis of your story and she said it sounded good. And she didnt even have to watch the teaser. Very good timing to release such a story also.
