my first dvx100, what do I need to know

hi guys,

I just ordered my very first DVX100A and whilel I'm waiting for it to arrive I wanted your opinion on what I can do, or READ until it comes in.
 
Move the zoom switch to "manual" before moving the zoom ring with hand :)
Do not move it manualy in servo mode.
Read the operating instructions and learn before you use it.
It's a serious piece of equipment.

Also, Barry's DVX book is excellent.

I already downloaded and read the instruction manual.

I wanted to know if there is another resource that I could use to fully exploit the features of this powerful camera?
 
Yeah, Barry's book would cover everything you need to know. Plus you've got this site to ask questions on. Congratulations on your purchase, I'm not lucky enough to own one yet

I need a hobby to kill the time while I wait. Is obsessiing a hobby?
 
As a matter of fact, obsessing is a wonderful hobby. When I'm not using my dvx, I'm obsessing about it. Isn't life grand?
