My first cigar

Home grown, and hand rolled. I didn't do too bad, other than not waiting long enough for it to cure and dry. But it wasn't bad at all in general, better than some of the Macanudos I've had, but not Cohiba quality either.

I've always imagined them to be bigger...

// Yes, yes, I know its not the size that counts, its how you smoke 'em

It's amazing how much tobacco it takes to make a cigar, and how little you actually get from a plant, multiplied by time it takes to cure said leaves. And I'm starting off with stunted plants, I took too long to transplant them I think. And then you have to factor in the bugs eating most of the good wrapper and binder leaves before I can cure them.

But, I am learning and adjusting. My tobacco is curing better now for one. I've got a second batch of tobacco starting, but it is going to stay indoors. They seem to thrive fine on light filtered through the window. The best looking plant I have is upstairs in front of the window. However, I still won't roll a big stogie, I prefer a smaller, after dinner type cigar.

If tobacco production = (X), cured tobacco = (Z-90%) x curing time (Y x 2 weeks minimum) < cigar = Z x 2 x Y ... or something like that :)

Home grown hey? nice work

do you have any photos of these tobbaco plants?

You might be onto something here, I can see that cigar nicely packaged with a small paper band that has the DVXuser label on it :) only for VIP DVXusers :D

Include me in, I don't smoke but who said Cigars are for smoking lol

No pictures, but they aren't really anything to be too proud of anyways. I have a dozen pots, some have two or three plants, some have one. More than one plant per pot really chokes them. I get about ten foot long or smaller leaves a week, it takes about a week or two to dry out, and will give me maybe 5 cigarettes out of that... or one cigar. But yeah, the filler, binder and wrapper all came from my plants.

SMOKING IS BAD FOR YOU!!!

He runs out feverishly with arms flailing side to side.

But smoking leads to crack, that's what the politicians say...

Okay, I'll stop and leave you cigar smokers back to your discussion... :)
