Hey guys! I recently directed a film called "60 Second Fight Club" as an entry to the Virgin Radio Fake Film Festival here in Vancouver, BC. The contest called for us to re-create any feature film within 60 seconds. We get points for how accurately we portray the entire story line, and also how well we promote it.

I sent the video to Chuck Palahniuk's web site ( http://www.chuckpalahniuk.net ) and he featured it on the main page, as well as his Facebook and Twitter pages.. this sent thousands of views to my video which was amazing! Then it started getting featured on more and more sites, such as viralviralvideos.com, whatthechrist.com, i-am-bored.com, stuffistoletheinternet.com, veracitystew.com and even nymag.com! In just 5 days I have over 20,000 views, so I guess this is considered going viral!

I would love to hear your feedback on the video! (Shot on Red Mx, entirely in my studio except one scene in my friends apartment, over the course of 2 days, 0 budget, about a 6 person crew)

Very well put-together - kinda of amusing to hear the dialogue with the Canadian accents. I could only see it from Chuck Palahniuk's site, though - the Virgin Radio is a bad link.

Ha ha, that's the first time someone has pointed out Canadian accents.. It's weird to think we sound any different...

Thanks for the compliments and also for pointing out the bad link - fixed it.

I watched your movie twice, but I still have hard time figuring out what is it supposed to be: a parody or remake. Maybe I don't have too positive feeling because Fight Club is one of the films I own (I only buy films I really, really like), but still the whole premiss is bit unclear.
Personally I would have re-created "The Doors" in about 30 seconds: "I'm drunk, I'm famous, I'm drunk, I'm dead".

Really impressively put together. VERY nice.

And yeah, I'm Swedish so English is my second language, but "First rule of Fight Club is... You do not talk aboot Fight Club." :D

It's for a contest. You re-create an existing, well-known film in 60 seconds and win a prize.

Hi robertrogoz, its not a parody, we had to re-create the entire film within only 60 seconds. we had to accurately show the entire story line within those 60 seconds. not an easy thing to do at all, picking the scenes we used was a very hard choice. personally i wanted to have some shots of Meatloaf's character ("His name is Robert Paulson") but it didnt move the story along enough. So it was not easy... We paid very close attention to detail, trying to replicate each scene as best we could with no budget. We actually had a video storyboard - i edited the original film down to 60 seconds, then we all had this on our iphones while filming and matched lighting, framing, set design, actors positions, tone of voice, etc. anyways, sorry to hear you didnt dig it.
