My feature film trailer, cut in FCP X

Whoa whoa whoa whoa... Whoa. That looks really good man! You've got some talent. You got a good dp too.

Some thought on the trailer tho is that it doesn't have a lot of suspense or tension. But I'm not sure if you were going for that tho. I feel like there are some really good quotes/lines in your film could probably say everything about the film much quicker.

Can I ask what your gear set-up was? (camera, audio) and what was the budget and principal photography length?

Thanks for the feedback! I might make a shorter cut as well.. The film has a very anti-climactic feel to it so I was hoping to capture that in the trailer..

Budget wise, I'm not allowed to discuss as we're about to go into negotiations with some distributors.

We shot on Red MX, all handheld (Easy Rig) and we recorded audio to an external recorder.. Not to certain as to the model or mics used. Typically we would have everyone with a lav and run a boom as well to have as many options as possible. The whole thing was shot over 13 days.

I decided to cut the film in Premiere as it could handle the r3d's natively, but it really gave me some serious issues, even running on a fully loaded mac pro with 32 gb of ram.

If X gets to where I think it will, my next feature will be cut on it. If not, than definitely Avid. As for adobe I'll stick to after effects and photoshop.

Premiere runs better under Windows than Mac, especially if you have a supported CUDA card (barring the use of a Red Rocket of course). I edited a feature in Red Raw on a Sony VAIO laptop and had a great experience.

Trailer looks great!
