Re: my sick setup

Fearsome! If you were holding that thing anywhere within 100 miles of Baghdad, somone would shoot at you--and i mean that as a compliment. :)

Re: my sick setup

what shockmount is that?

Re: my sick setup

Re: my sick setup

at8415 w/ k-sus bands. if using the sennheiser mzs-cam, the me66/lightwave equalizer barely touches the oversized flag.

Re: my sick setup

Would you like a camera with your accessories, sir?   :P

Nice rig, now where did I put that record button?

I'm teasing, of course, it looks fab.

Re: my sick setup

I've always wondered the point of dual handgrip for videocams... unless you're planning to do a lot of AF? How would you zoom and focus when both hands are occupied?

that's what cool about it.  it gives you the option of using 1 or 2 of the handgrips.  i can use my right hand to hold the camera w/ the dvx's adjustable handle to control zoom and use the right handle or adjust the left handle of the shoulder mount close enough to be able to manual focus w/ my left hand.

Re: my dvx setup

Nice rig man! ;D Its nice to finally see some really good looking pics with the cinetactics matteblox on a cam....

Re: my dvx setup

I noticed 2 different types of windscreens. Which does what? Is there a certain one you use to cut down on a lot of wind noise?

Re: my dvx setup

Yeah............What's the windscreen on the ME-64?.......Alan Barker Modified? I've been using the Rycote for ME-66 and have used it with the ME-64 with great results! Have heard the Equalizer is superior!

Re: my dvx setup

How long have you had the shoulder mount, boo? Promax?

I bought the first type they made.. really rudimentary but I love it.. they much improved your model but doesn't look like they carry it any more... I'd love to get another one.

Re: my dvx setup

sorry for the late response guys.  just got back from beautiful monterey.   8)

dvx100shooter/unclemort:  the furry windscreen is the lightwave equalizer for the me66.  the foam windscreen is the modified shure A81WS for the me64.  it does a really good job in cutting wind noise!  you can see the modification over at:  http://www.alanbarker.com/contentpages/screenmod.html i've tested them both at the beach.  though i use the me64 mainly indoors which is why i went w/ the modified windscreen over a furry one.

chenopup: the shoulder mount was actually made by eric ortlieb, the original mastermind of the cobracrane/steadytracker products.  cost me only $89.  you can purchase it here:  http://classicvideoproducts.com/shoulder.html . works great as a shoulder mount, especially doing avante garde/off axis, rolling dutch shots(though you can't go hands free like the dvrigpro but no biggie for me).

i'll post more pix of the dvx on the cobracrane, steadytracker w/ low mode, dolly/tripod system as well as some footage of these products in action.  :)

Re: my dvx setup

thanks, boo... forgot out their original site. I own one that's not nearly as nice as yours. Probably earlier model. Could use a second handle.. I'll give them a call.
