So does the "E" on DVX100AE then stand for "excrement"?

Coffee.....try not to drool on the camera itself as that is probably not covered under warranty.

On a serious note Coffee, weren't you looking for or using an XL2 for a while? When I see your user ID I think XL2 for some reason.

Congrats!

first thing to do while its powered off is tilt it around and see if it makes a clunking sound. if it does you have a broken one (just kidding!)

seriously though, welcome to the club! this place will become your second home...

My wife would disagree with that statement....she thinks its the first home.....congrats coffee

Now all you can do while it charges up is go to office depot to buy a bigger box where you can put the whole thing in. Get some foam pebbles too. Then type on it the following:
Roberto Lequeux
5698 Santiago St.
Boca Raton, FL 33435

Then all you do, once it finished charging all the way, is pack it back up in the box. Make sure it is packed safely! Then go to your nearest UPS drop-off, pay for extreme-one-hour-private-jet delivery and you are set.

See, that is the super duper technical support department that will tune it up for you. If you don't it will never work properly, so hurry up and send it to me... Errr! them!, yes, they need to change the oil on it and stuff.

thanks guys! and yeah, I'll ship it out tomorrow! LOL

I'm very impressed with the quality thus far. I've put it to the test in a simple way and wow!
Can't wait to read Barry's book this evening!

thats so weird, I just got mine yesterday as well! I'm very charged about this cam. I ebayed my PD150 to get this baby! I know the 200 is on the horizon, but at a projected 6 grand, I can do so much more with the other 3k for my next project. Plus the promotion of the fat battery and MB and primo tapes was to good to pass up! Im sure that in the next few months people will start seeing the 100A as obsolete with the JVC-FX1-200, but for me its opening up a whole new world.

I'm sure you'll have big fun w/ your DVX... we all have........ Wow your right here in Linden, I'm actually typing this thread at the Bayway Refinery... I'm at work now, Live in Long Branch...... If ever want to talk or work on something w/ DVX let me know.

Chris

I just got mine yesterday, I've been playing around with it and I'm really excited. I have been reading the book and I watched the DVD and they are both proving to be powerful tools for me. Honestly I'm still amazed at the 24p image. I had only viewed clips online and they looked great but there is nothing like seeing your own footage at 24p the first time.

welcome aboard everyone! now start watching some clips on here (screen grabs and clips and in the dvxfest) and start learning and practicing!

Mine just got here on 6/29/05! I am so excited to start using it on my projects and the rebate wasn't bad either. I got mine from bhphotovideo.com. Where did you guys get yours?
