My DP Reel. Would love feedback!

Some really great stuff, good work. A few thoughts: around the one minute mark, you have a shot with a guy in a shower and the background pulls apart. A neat effect but the lighting is subpar compared to the rest of your stuff. A few clips later, you have a car on a rooftop... looks like a few blown highlights and a bit overexposed to me, again a good setting but visually not your best. You also have a few shots after that look equally over-exposed. May have been right for the project but feels out of place in your reel.

The beginning 30 seconds or so all seems like it was from the same project... you might think about breaking these up, lest someone decide in those first thirty seconds that yeah, it looks cool, but it SEEMS like you've only done one big project (much better about this towards the end).

I would also try to shave fifteen or twenty seconds off.
Besides that, looks fantastic!

Thanks so much for the critique! I agree with pretty much all your notes and plan on editing the reel a bit more. Yeah, I am aware that the shot where the bathroom splits in two has fairly sub-par lighting. I probably included it because I also produced that shoot and that it has Vinny from Jersey Shore. Plus the action of the bathroom splitting in two really went well with the music! But those are all reasons to like it from an editor or producer or set designer's stand point and not a DP's. As well as that wide shot with all the fire. A VFX guy would appreciate it, but that's about it.

And yeah, I'm going to shorten it up for sure.

Again, thanks for the feedback. Very helpful!
