My DIY Stunt Dummy MARIANNE

She's made from a hollow glass fiber mannequin.
Because she wasn't jointed, I sawed off her knees, elbows, wrists, neck and mid section (if you're gonna do this with glass fiber, be sure to use some sort of breathing mask!!!) and then put her back together again with duct tape.

Last year we used her in the MARIANNE pilot, and it took about 4-5 drops from 20 meters into a lake before she started coming apart.

You can see that drop if you go to 2:00 here:

cool idea. I saw a dummy built once by putting drussing someone in old jeans that were a bit snug and a long sleeve shirt. Duct taped them up like a mummy and then had them climb out slowly. Filled the now duct taped clothes cacoon with old newspaper and added a fake head and rubber hands. Worked great and looked good in long shots.

Yeah I considdered that for a while, but I really wanted to make sure it would fall in a very naturalistic way, so it needed to have joints and limbs that would work like a human's.

Also, newspaper is kind of out of the question when you throw it in a lake, plus the actress won't be wearing jeans. For the pilot, I wanted to give the appearance of skin color.

no doubt it wouldnt go in water. But the jeans were covered in tape. We redressed it accordingly. Just used jeans and long sleeve shirt for a holder.
