My diy silk windscreen for the cost 0 dollar

Cool video Leigh. If you added two more wooden sticks on the bottom of the mount then you could secure the shirt tighter with some rubber bands instead of it hanging and flapping.

Good luck

Thanks

Great idea. I am thinking same thing. But might be get little more diffcult to put microphone in.

What do you guys think the effectness of the silk windscreen shown in my second video?

My feeling is fantastic for the windscreen with just silk cloth without foam.

But I guess if have lots of wind, the silk windscreen might not have great effect. For the time being, in Auckland, New Zealand, the silk windscreen seems very effective as there is no big wind here. :)

Someone else highly recommend that rycote kit to me. I just simply can't afford that. I spent all my money on my shotgun microphone. That is the reason I did my best to do a diy one. My whole point is in normal use without wind noise. I do not hope my diy solution can work perfectly in big wind. Can you upload some video to show the performance of the rycote kit?

TIA
