"I see men, sixty, seventy years old breaking their balls to stay fit! What for? When I die, I want to be sick, not healthy."

from The Witches Of Eastwick.

college students just have to be smart about it.
loans suck
not everyone has the same opportunites but still....
just do what i did, go to a JC for 2 yrs while still living at home, and work a part time job at a restaurant. (hard work but good money)
save money for the big move.
then transfer to a university, apply for federal aid, and battaboom!
throw in a couple scholarships and you should be golden.
keep working while in school to pay rent/bills (hard, but do-able)
i'm not done with school yet, but at this rate i should graduate with money saved.

dude, i go to a private school and it's not cheap....get this, tuition has gone up $10,000 since I started here. It's now $32,700 a year.

yah, i'm going to be really poor. the sad thing is I really love this school too. TCU Horned Frogs! Houston Bowl baby!

Awe man that looks like great news. The last stats I saw listed that almost 60% of americans were obese. 23% is way less fatties than I thought.

rook - I think what you remember hearing was "60% of American's are overweight" not "60% are obese." They're different. Overweight means you could lose a few pounds. Obese means you could lose any race you enter.

Ha! Now only someone from Austin, TX could possibly rhyme the word die with sen-si-bly.

No, no, no... you've got it all wrong. You weren't paying attention to the thread, young man. The title of this thread is "My Country Tis of Thee". To which I replied, "Land of Obesity". Then came the above quoted comments.

So, Luis rhymed "obesity" with "sensibly".

btw, I've noticed you using my copyright protected "Ha!"® followed by "That's funny" as a way of acknowledging the humor in someone's post. In the early days, I would try the "LOL", which was later modified to "lol". Eventually, I settled on "Ha!"® as a unique way of replying to one's humor. Others have distinguished themselves with retorts such as "heh heh" or "bwaaaahahahahaha", but the originality of the single "Ha" combined with the exclamation point, provides a sharp staccato effect that signals enjoyment in a single consonant. Then, I really take it over the top when I throw down with the "That's funny" line - I guarantee you they don't see it coming.

So, you can cease and desist with usage of said retort or take up the matter with my counsel, Mr. Jimerson. :cheesy:

Terry, you're just making an excuse to use the Registered trademark thing you just learned how to produce via the numeric pad, lol

and Luis, it's actually 50% of all marriages end in divorce, but what most people don't realize is that the ratio of marriages to divorces is funky.

They account for marriages within the past year and then divide those by the amount of divorces. The thing is, the divorces are accounted all the way back until 1960. So if you look at todays actual statistics of marriages to divorces in just 2005, the 60% is much much lower.
