My computer crashes everyday!

Yeah, it does, I am using XP, almost everyday I use MSN messenger, in the middle of chat my computer freezes, then have to restart, sometimes it does this 2-5 times a night, meaning I have to restart that many times. My system is quite new with 1G of memory.. it's been doing this for quite sometime already, just keep wondering wut the phuk's goin on... p4 HT 1G ram ATI9600 sb75 motherboard, have norton AV ADware Spybot(do update and run these often) if anybody know how to fix this ,
it would be like ... golly wilikers.
 
The best thing to do is to backup all your important files and summon the format option. Just wipe your drive clean and reinstall everything. If you want to chat, the best program to chat with is Trillian. Basically it allows you to chat with AIM, ICQ, MSN, etc. Really cool and never crashes on me. And stop downloading porn! That's why your computer keeps jacking up! word!
 
There is somethng majorly wrong with your PC. Mine has never crashed in the 8-9 months I've had it and we basically have the same setup. Definitely save everything important and do a complete reformat and reinstall. I know it will suck having to install all your software again, but think of the time you'll save not having to reboot.

It could be bad RAM, I recently replaced one of the memory sticks in my computer which had never crashed nor locked up. Once I put the new stick in and started up the computer (WIN XP) I suddenly had system level crashes about 6 times in 2 hours, while doing nothing more than checking e-mail and browsing DVXUser.com. As soon as I took the new memory out the problem went away. I then sent the memory back and get it replaced. After installing the new replacement stick the problem has not returned and that was over a week ago.
 
well.. It doesn't crash if i don't chat, it only crashes while chatting on msn, it's like somebody's controlling it, almost everytime at critical part of the chat it freezes, you can imagine how this improves cussing pronounciations. I'll try the Trillian method see what happens... sanQ
 
I don't know how the MS chat thingie works....does it rotate ads anywhere in the program like Yahoo does when looking at a webcam? Sometimes when my Yahoo is trying to connect to the ad server, it freezes because the connection sucks to that particular advert.

not heat prob. cause when I render when everything is the hottest it has no prob. no ad thingy either, just in the middle of chat suddenly things don't move.... move mouse for about a few more seconds then nothing moves, have to restart! by the reset button dam
 
if it's not a legit XP, is that the cause? is anyone using un-legit xp and not having this prob.?
 
Microsoft Messenger is the worst of the chat programs out there. I disabled mine in XP. I got tired of it automatically signing on when I checked my email.

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds it might get me busted. ....Ahh what the heck! I'm using an illegal copy. I did advertising for Micorsoft for 3 years, so they OWE ME!!! :) Actually, about 95% of all computers in Thailand have an illegal copy of XP installed. If Thai people were forced to pay for XP there wouldn't be a computer in any school, office, or home. Companies should adjust prices on a sliding scale so poor countries can have the same opportunities as rich countries. Anyway, I've had no problems. Never once crashed in 8-9 months.

dam, it crashed on me 4 times today.... and i cussed the phuk word 2 times... but thats a low-long thumping phuk, i try the trillian, it suck; no emoticon etc.. wuts wrong man, my comp. is so awsome.... just the dam MSN!
 
ok, .......... the main problem is how to un crash my computer

what is streamline? u mean xp and sp2 zipped together into a cd? if it is, mine is streamlined. I just wonder why nobody else is crashing.
 
by streamline i mean get rid of unneccessary processes. no offense, cba, but it doesn't sound like you know enough to be messing around with xp's services anyway. just disregard that link.

it's like the story of the guy who goes to the doctor and says, "hey doc, it hurts when i do this" (rotates right arm) "what should i do?" and the doctor says, "stop doing that."

your computer crashes every time you use messenger, but not when you're not using it. quit using it. your pc is probably infected with all kinds of viruses, too. reformat your hard drive and use icq to do your IM stuff. oh yeah--go out and meet people if you want to get laid. :)
