My Cinematographer Demo Reel

Great work. It looks fantastic. I especially liked the slow-mo football shots and the edit in general from around 00:22 until around 01.11 - wow! And those cheerleaders...

Some very small quibbles: The opening shots don't grab me as they should, I feel you could tighten up the edit slightly from 01.23 onwards (you don't need more football players here and could maybe condense those excellent fire-fighter shots) and you could go out on a more impressive closing shot. Keep the timelapses throughout too - I really liked them. Anyway, I thought it was great overall. Best of luck with it.

Ok, I almost turned it off in the first 3 seconds - I'm glad I didn't! Very cool stuff. I get what you're trying to do with the musician, but the first 15 seconds didn't hold up to the rest.

I liked that you included a variety of shots from each gig - shows that you're not a one-trick-pony who only has one nice or lucky composition to show off. It also shows off your editing skills quite nicely.

Good work, I'm sure you'll get some nice offers after sharing this one!

Thank you for the kind words! Yes those cheerleaders are a seller! :)

I am a person who loves critiques! So don't be afraid to be harsh!! I will see what I can do to change those opening shots! Thanks for the help!

Thanks Nate! It seems that is the consensus about the beginning! I am going to see what I can pull out of the bag of shots to replace that with!

I think the issue was that I saw the same type of shots I did when first starting out myself: random buildings from a car window, an unlit guitar, a bus driving by. All good practice, but nothing particularly interesting or meaningful. At the time, it was all I had, so I showed those kind of things off. But you sir, you have better! For how tight the rest was, I felt like anyone could have taken those first three shots, and to have them play at the beginning risks someone watching the rest.
