My captured footage is interlaced and is what is the best de-interlacing method?

Noob question. I shot this footage in 30p and captured on FCP in the standard DV NTSC setting. When I put it on the timeline, the video came out interlaced for some reason (see pic below). I used Too Much Too Soon's smart de-interlace plugin and that seemed to do the trick just fine.

However, I have 2 questions: (1) why did it go into my timeline de-interlaced in the first place; and (2) are any of the de-interlacing methods better than others? (FCP vs. TMTS vs. other methods).

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I guess I solved my own problem

I guess I solved my own problem

So I did a little bit more research and tried the pulldown method in Cinema Tools. Turns out that worked as well. I guess I must've shot the footage at 24p instead of 30. I could've sworn that it was 30p footage though.

I still wonder about my second question though. Is there a preferred de-interlacing plugin?
