It came today very cool. he got a dvx for christmas and gave me his 5 year old xl1 with a 16time zoom lens. he gave me a tape and i will post grabs from the footage.

I don't know? The lens is black and has lots of things on it. he said that the camera battery will last 2 hours and the head needs to be cleaned but i will sell it for my dvx earnings. i wanted the XL1 for some time but after reading about pannys cameras screw the Xl1 so how much do you think my dad can get for it?

yes my bro shot what you are looking at so i could work with some moutains and skiing. i would love to show you the skiing images but he had the XL! in normal movie mode witch sucks ass. :) this camera will be gone before next friday

no its not my bro just sent it out to me for a few days to mess with it. then he is selling it and giving the money to me for the dvx fund

Gotcha...so the grab you put up was on the tape that came with the camera..I'm guessin. Good to hear that you've finally decided to go with the DVX.

Man, I'm trying to follow, but...

Let me see if I got this right... your brother sent you his *old* XL1 which you posted a grab of something he shot. Now, after only a few days with the XL-1, your sending the camera to your father to sell it for you to raise money for a DVX. Your father has promised to pay for half of the DVX and the rest will come from the sale of the XL-1 and your Kool-Aid stand money(?).

Y'know, if it's gonna be a while before you get a DVX, then maybe you should hang onto the XL-1 for a short while in an effort to hone some shooting skills. What say you?

I would but the camera is old its one of the first XLones from the 90s my bro has never cleaned the heads so its not doing well, i don't want it

plus i have a PD150 and A JVCGRDVM90u that has a Prog.Scan 1 chip CCD(29.97P) so i will be fine :)
