My 503 head doesn't fit.. what gives??

So, my new Manfrotto tripod came in the mail today (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=217268&is=REG) and I've encountered a problem. It seems as if one of the screws on the head is too large for my dvx. The two holes on the bottom of the dvx are the same size, and one of the screws on the head is significantly larger than the other. One of the screws fits in, but the other doesn't. What is going on? Am I missing something? Please help.

Nevermind, got it. The larger screw is removeable. Sorry, its been a long day at work and I'm a walking zombie.
 
The second screw is for larger plates that come with bigger cameras. The tripod plate you have attaches to the camera plate which the camera attaches to. The camera plate has a quick release so you can detach the camera and go handheld quick.
