My $10 Fishing Polecam

Here's my $10 equipment setup and the first polecam test.
Realize it was shot on a Sony TRV 9, I was not interested in the look or the exposure of the shot...just the move.
I couldn't look through the viewfinder either, had to frame by...luck. With the real deal I will have a video tap.

But I'm pretty happy with where it's going.

Nice job! $10.00? How was the control? Did you shoot EXACTLY WHAT YOU WERE TRYING to shoot? It looked great.

It controlled pretty well, but keeping the horizon a horizon was the hard part. I know once I have video asst it will be alot easier, as I am shooting in the dark without it "is the camera going to hit the tree, well then I'm too close...kinda deal".
Yeah basically what I thought I was getting in the shot I got.
There was no wind, but I am sure wind would be a factor with this type of device.
As it evolves I will put plans up. It's amazing what you can create with PVC and gaffers tape and too much time on your hands.

Hey Zoom, how slow was my server?

No, it is presently too harsh to show a photo. I will put some plans up in a couple of weeks once i refine a few things...But I think the concept works.

Yeah that's the plan.
I'm wanting to put a underslung remote control camera head on a pole. I also want the system to have easy mobility, and flexibility. Like to shoot off a tripod or off a shoulder.

Poor man's crane? I wonder if it's gonna be that cheap once you finish with it? ;D Anyway, it's all in the fun of building it.

Hey Flintstone,
Yeah it won't be that cheap when it is done but it sure is fun to make this stuff. I think when all is done it be around $1500 CDN or $20 USD.
