.mxv files

Or whatever video files the hvx200 creates. Can premiere 1.5 recognize those files? Or do I have to get something for it to recognize them?

No, and neither can Premiere Pro 2. I believe the best work around is the Raylight Codec. I've only used the trial version thus far. It seems pretty adequate. Instead of it re-rendering the whole file into a whole new clip, it creates a Video for Windows file that contains significantly less info than the original MXF file, and it points back to the original MXF clip for the rest of the data information. So basically as far as I understand it, it is simply a "translater" that allows you to edit your MXF files. The downside is that you have to process every clip you want to edit into the RayMaker (RayLight encoder). And another downside is that you have to keep the original MXF file so the new Video for Windows file can pull info from it.

All, I know is that it works, and it seems to be the best solution right now for Adobe users. You can find MUCH more info on the RayLight codec in this forum (thats where I discovered it) or at the official website: http://www.dvfilm.com/raylight

Oh, and it costs $195.
