Mxf Help!

So, I shot some stuff on someone else's HVX. And he dumped the files onto my external hard drive and gave me all the MXF files. Now I can't import them into anything...I don't know how I can look at them. I've tried FCP6, Premiere Pro CS3, Avid Media Composer...bleh.

I have the Last Clip .txt and just the video MXF files.

On all the help videos I've found online, if you go to Import in FCP the P2 Card shows up..but if I don't have that, so that's not even there. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks gang.

FCP6 is Log and Transfer, Shift + Apple + 8, then click the folder icon in the upper left of the window and point that to your contents folder

JUST the video files? Well then, FCP won't see them...shocked if Avid would. The entire directory structure is hosed. They need to copy EVERYTHING from the cards. Point your camera person to this:

Now...you can try RAYLIGHT, a plugin for FCP that allows FCP to read the MXF directly. Demo available at www.dvfilm.com. If that doesn't do it, then nothing will.

You know what...I forgot about something. You can use HDLog to batch repair/rebuild the P2 volumes from just the MXFs! (P2 Log Pro fixes only one clip at a time---HD Log will do the entire folder of MXFs). I know this will cost some money, but it is cheaper than a reshoot, and this is a great tool to have. I have an early version and love the interface.
