mxf DVCPRO HD solutions?

Hello everyone. I recently received 5 DVCPRO HD files shot on an HVX200. I shoot on a DVX100 and edit with Vegas 6. Obviously editing these files will be a problem without raylight or something similar. My question is: is there any other application that is more cost efficient or any other way to edit these files without paying 100 dollars for raylight to use with 5 clips?

come on vegas! get with the program!

I had to use CS3 to get the clips to work, then I just converted them to .avi's because i'm editing in SD anyways.

See if you can find someone with Premiere CS3 and if they will let you convert the files from .mxf's.

The "unofficial" word is the codec is too expensive. I don't buy that. I think Sony and Panasonic don't get along. Much of it in Sony's court, I feel. Now that everyone has stepped up to offer support, it's not a good sign that Sony continues to resist, regardless.

I really believe that if you haven't seen it by now, you won't see it in Vegas anytime soon. Forcing lots to jump ship and that's not the only reason.

I'm *THIS* close to switching over to FCP. One I get my macbook pro, it's on. If sony would just get their act together, offer Vegas with .mxf support and make it for OS X, by golly I'd be a happy man!
