Muting swear words

[Eon42]

Hi. I'm helping a friend with a video project for school and I really need to know how to mute swear words. I've been editing with Vegas 6.0 and I edit my audio clips in Sony Forge 8.0. I've tried the "Insert SIlence" option, but it obviously didn't help as it doesn't replace the data - it adds to it. I REALLY need your help on this guys! My friend asked me to help him out at the last minute and this thing's do tomorow! lolol

Thnx

If you want to mute it, use a volume envelope. Right-click on the audio track and choose the option.

Like any envelope, you can add points and raise/lower volume where you see fit.

Thanx a lot David! Greatly appreciated BTW, I found your video tutorial on 24P editing very helpful. Thanks again.
