Must put clips in 1 track to use Color?!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I find that if I send to Color from FCP and color everything. Then when I export back to FCP only the clips that were in the 1st track in FCP originally get colored. When I take the pain staking time to put all the clips down to track 1 in FCP then go to Color, then go back, everything is fine.

Do I have to do this in order to get Color to paint all the clips? I hope not because I have a bigger project I'm working on and getting everything to track one is a big job. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or is this something we all have to live with?:Drogar-BlackEye(DBG

Color does not like to work with any format except .mov exported directly from FCP. This is what I do.

Get all the editing done on FCP with visual effects and everything is finished.

Render and export to .mov on the desktop.

Create a new sequence with the same settings as your project.

Import the .mov on the empty time line you created. Cut out the movie into clips so you can color each clip individually.

Open up color.

Go to FCP and click on file > send to > color

Finish.

Hey filming, thanks. I think I might have to do that. So I guess I'm right then. Well was hoping to get that clarified, and you sure did do that. Thanks.
