MUST HAVE filters for mattebox

It really depends..... OK I know you didn't want to hear that. But!

Like the others I use ND's and Pol's a lot. But I also use Diopters a bunch.
I also use a HBM set quite a bit with older talent.

I use low cons ( Ultra and Digicon) a bunch and love attenuators.......... but bare minimum ND, ND Grads and Pol's

It somewhat depends on your camera. You might need an IR cut filter or IR cut/Hot mirror NDs if your camera is prone to IR contamination. It also depends on the look you want, for example, you might consider a few of black pro mist filters.

You'll also have to decide whether to go with attenuator or graduated NDs.

I don't use a matte box every often, so the only 4x4 filters I own are a CPL and 1.2 grad ND.

NDs and Polas are the ones you will find on every big set, grads and diffusion next most popular.

Thanks guys...ND and polariser it will be. Now i saw some prices for 4x5.65 at CVP and my head is spinning wild. I suppose there is no work around those prices if quality is a requirement...

Check eBay.

There is always someone going out of business and selling gear.

Also if your matte box has a 138mm stage at the rear you might find a deal on something like a true-pol.
