On your project, is there an easy way to add a music track? when i go to add a track through FCP, it is greyed out.

I didn't really pay attention when selecting the music, FCP won't recognize m4a files.
now need to get a converter

m4a...iTUNES downloads. Not usable in FCP.

m4a is AAC codec ripped from a CD. m4p is the protected iTunes download.

to the OP, best suggestion is to re-rip to AIFF (uncompressed). otherwise, you'll need to convert your m4a to AIFF 48khz.
