music videos on a website/reel?

I'm looking to set up a website to basically show the various short films/videos I've done as part of my reel/portfolio. However, I've directed music videos that were created as entries in music video contests. In these contests, I had to use a specific song for the video. I don't have the rights to these songs.

Would I still need permission to post the videos on my website as part of my reel?

I don't think that would be a problem because if that were the case then making a mock commercial or music video would also not be cool. Plus as long as your aren't selling anything the worse that could happen would be for them to tell you to take it down
