Random thoughts.

DOP
The colour and lighting is pretty good.

There are a couple of shot of the kid that are a bit under graded and 'Loggy' if that was to create 'the past' then an actual change in WB and some grain or even aspect ratio change could have done that better.

There is one disco entrance that could have done with more flashing lights - can be done with cheap fixtures and waving a black or silver board in front of them.

I think there are too many front on shots on the 'stage' - you or a Bcam could have done some from the sides* - the backlight could have been 'cheated' round.

Id like to see a few more CU of the dancers (!)

EVERONE ELSE.

I think there is a lack of aggression from the white kid, headmaster and bouncer. This is the major fail.

I dont buy the bouncers costume or him really.

I dont really buy the school location - too nice

Im not too keen on the injury - its not strong enough for a CU.

The shot with the Rubics cube.. I was thinking 'is this set dressing from the past?' if it was 'the past' it wasnt clear enough.

Im heading to 50 and I had a rubiks cube - surely 90s (?) kids didnt?

My assistant has a gh4 with an 85/2 usually. If he is not working on the specific shot he alwys shoots something from anywhere he fancies that is not in the main shot.. lots gets used.

Yo this is one of the best looking music videos I’ve seen on here in a long while! Very refreshing. Lightning was top notch. I have a different sentiment than previous poster. I would change nothing about this video. Really good cinematography and shot selection... for me the front on stage shots with lack of a ton of variation was executed properly since ur primary focus was the story and not the performance? Salute on this one.

Thanks Reem. Yeah the stage stuff was just making the most of the space we had access to. We needed a warehouse!
