Hello there and sorry for advertising but some of you guys might be interested on how a crappy DIY 35mm adapter works on a project like this :

You can check more details about it at http://filmaus.wordpress.com/2011/04/19/delay-trees-about-brothers-music-video-out-now/ but shortly explained there is 3D animation composited on footage from Canon HV20 + lenses are Canon FD 50mm and 28mm, the wide running shot on the field was shot with bare HV20. Compositing and color grading was made in Nuke.

The guy on the video is my brother, Tomi who likes to draw his own illustrations - literally hundreds within a week.

Any feedback greatly appreciated :)

Let me sum this up, "I am a big fan of 35mm footage, but now I am a bigger fan of your work!".

I was paying too much attention on the story that I forgot to even evaluate your DIY adapter efficiency....the 3D animation composted on the footage is very clean!! Do you mind sharing the detail work flow on that method you used with the Maya software? I think it looks real enough even though you did mention that you can actually over polished it more...

I love people with down syndrome, I had worked in the special needs field for many many years. I recently took on a position for an agency that specializes in working with " Prader willie syndrome" But the folks with prader willie are extremely self absorbed with little emotional attatchment to anyone, or anything other than themselves. Of course it's not their fault, it just part of the syndrome. And there is the rare exception. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy working with them as well. But the folks I have worked with that have Down syndrome have been an absolute joy to work with. Their some of the sweetest, fun, and loving people I have ever met. They will melt your heart.

Now to the video, ABSOLUTLY BRILLIANT, I love the look, the animations were great. I even thought the song was really good. This is an original execution that worked well. great job!!!

Teemu, this was very nice! You did a great job, you shot it in a very beautiful way. The colors, the editing, the music, the acting and the animation. The whole thing had a very nice and warm feeling. And your brother seemed to have a lot of fun.

Thank you for showing it.
