i am shooting a music video on nov 7th and was wondering what you guys do to plan out your shots and be ready for when shooting begins, besides double checking thats a must!

Have you developed a shot list? And determined the order of your shooting...when you will shoot each shot? Determined the lighting set-ups, camera movement, subject movement, boom placement for each shot, set design, etc. These are the kinds of things you need to determine before you start shooting. Give us some details of the shoot. Are you smply shooting the performers or are you making a mini-movie? Telling a story as well as shooting the music video. Details will help us help you. Food! Man cannot live without food!

hahhaha wow yea so i dont have a set, no lights, booms? ha, im goin with the flow i mean ive been listening to the song trying to visualize a shot. but i mean its rap and its called the pussy song haha i dont really like it but the client basically said hes bringing "hoes" for the shoot so i figured i could shoot that. but where could a find a template for a shot list?

even if you don't find a second cam just run the song a few more times just to shoot extras. i shot with one cam and always do like pick ups and just get extras shot when i think i've got all the shots i need.

it's never a bad thing to have to much footage. it gives you alot of options to choose from.

yea thats what i did for the last music video for this guy we shot the whole song like 3 or 4 times and just mixed em together then added fillers then effects

i looked at that and was like wow you did it in like 3 to 4 times. haha well yeah when your shooting like rap that's about all you need. i'm used to shooting like bands and it takes like.. 20 times if not more. i spend like 2 hours minimum shooting. and that's why i break up the song too.

let me know how it all turns out. do you know where your shooting. cause i'd probably just make sure you know or have an idea of lighting.

all gonna be shot outside except for the part with the white backdrop i think imma use floodlights. i dont own anything else besides my hvx tripod polarized filter and p2 card so not much to work with. i gotta ghetto rig a backdrop some how thats what im most worried about
