It sounds like your trying to make your music video look exactly like "Meddler" by august burns red that released yesterday

why would you do want's already been done? Just wondering...

Never the less 1000 should be enough for some good lighting rental, and even a lighting technician to set them up. So you should be fine! =D just contact a local rental house and tell them your situation, they'll help you out. But just rack your brain i'm sure you could find some other kind of ideas in there. People will enjoy your video a lot more if it's something they haven't already seen before.
This can come off sarcastic because reading my words can be taken completely differently than how i mean them but i am honestly not trying to scorch you. Just trying to help man! :)

Yeah if you have 1k you got it made for a 1 night shoot. But I second what Dillon said dont copy them. With 1,000$ to spend on lighting gear I would hire a DP and rent a lighting kit and a grip kit from a rental house.

i never seen that music video before... like you said it came out yesterday... how could i of stole the idea that fast hahahah... but it is a entertaining music video

... i dont like how you can see the balls all the time... im kinda looking for a more people lit up and the ground but be tottally black all around them...
thats why i suggested the china balls...

Thats what she said.... Yeah I gotcha you just want to light it softly. If that is what you want to do then I would suggest renting a couple of space lights for ambience and then using 2k Arris with large softboxes.

try using single colored fairy light (xmas lights) out of focus in the background, will give you a nice bokeh for close ups...

Hi,

Greenscreen technique is a very popular choice when making an animation. It is used in commercials where we are made to think that people in that advertisement are in a particular place but actually they are not. This is a good way of cutting the costs of video production.

yea well a green screen would cost alot more then what im looking for, and its not the effect i really want thanks tho

thanks for everyones imput, but we have decided to take it a whole diffrent direction and are shooting it on a deserted beach during the day....
how should i light i light the drums if if i cover them in water so i can see the spashes come come off the symbles and drum heads

I don’t think green screen is that costly. Green screen is actually a very wonderful way of getting an awesome background of your choice for any of the film that you are shooting. Even a simple AD can look creative if u use green screen.
